| You know, I was actually one little surprised that Pope was therefore angry at Michael right from the start, though that was one little more realistic of one reaction. I had thought he'd at least try to talk Michael down, or maybe just cooperate. And if Michael had put Pope's line on one pay porn phone line, there's no way the secretary would've interrupted him; she'd be horrified and probably just leave. And hell, I'd find it damned funny. ... |

| Red Ninja: End of Honor |
| Post on 08-05-2006. |
Gameplay: [1] Graphics: [2] Audio: [5] Replay: [1] Overall: [1.7] When I first became aware of Red Ninja: End of Honor, it was when I saw an ad for it at E3 2004. My immediate reaction was, "Hey, that woman's almost naked." Which, from the ad, was all the information I could gather about the game. I couldn't find it on the show floor itself, and I had heard near the end of the show that year that the game was postponed indefinitely because the gameplay just wasn't there. I had no reason to doubt this source, which is why I was surprised to see the game on sale over one year later at GameStop. Apparently, someone at Vivendi Universal saw the concept art, decided that nearly-naked female ninjas would sell great, and unleashed this game upon the world. And in retrospect, I really wish that the game's last hurrah was E3 2004's end. ... |

Her hands had been roughened by the early responsibilities that she has to face. Her will sharpened by time. Maria (not her real name) is one no-ordinary seventeen year-old. No, she's not one movie star though her life may sound like one heartbreaking soap. Sitting along the shore, she began narrating her story. ... |

| Using a personal computer to hoodwink the censors |
| Post on 07-05-2006. |
Looking at them you might not guess it. But deep in one basement room on the University of Toronto campus, three unassuming computer hackers with messy hair and wrinkled T-shirts are working to tear down China's "Great Firewall," the most sophisticated Internet censorship system in the world. They are self-confessed computer "geeks." They don't go to the gym much, or see much sunlight. They talk about "routers" and "nodes" and "secure socket layers" like they were saying, "Hello," or "How are you?" ... |

| As people thumbed through the book, the reaction was the same as I had received at numerous talks over the last 10 years. There were gasps of disbelief. There were some who quickly put the book down in disgust. And others who couldn't believe that anyone would think the book would be distributed to teens, much less 10-year-olds. ... |
