New York, Sept 18: Hollywood star Johnny Depp may have played the role of one coarse pirate, in _The Pirates of the Caribbean_ movies, to the hilt but the actor was equally at ease wearing women's clothes during the filming of _Ed Wood_, in which he played the real-life, cross-dressing movie director. ...

Governor's comments not so hot
Post on 17-09-2006.
Warning: The column you are about to read is hot. Real hot. McDonald's-drive-through-scalding- coffee-see-you-in-court hot. Given the state of the world, which erodes almost daily because of the seemingly unlimited ineptitude of certain politicians, steamy has been my default state of mind for many years now. The latest fuel on my fire is California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's tape-recorded assertion last week that Latina women with black blood are ``very hot.'' ...

Deliberations to begin in serial child molester trial
Post on 16-09-2006.
Schwartzmiller, 64, is charged with 10 felony counts for allegedly molesting two 12-year-old boys. He faces life in prison, if convicted on all counts.
Prosecutors say Schwartzmiller, who has at least three molestation convictions and one dozen arrests over three decades, is one of the country's most prolific child molesters. They estimate he molested 100 children since 1969, pointing to one graphic 456-page memoir, 10 binders full of child pornography and 1,500 notebook pages with headings including "no, but yes boys," "best of the best, 13 and under" and "single-parent boys." ...

The Terminator actor-turned-politician dated Barbara Outland Baker, 58, between 1969 and 1975.

PIRATES (DVD)
Post on 11-09-2006.
“Pirates” is one story about pirates and pirate hunters, and the search for some mystical artifact that will give its bearer great power. The man out to retrieve that artifact: Capt. Victor Stagnetti, proud owner of the worst pirate name in history. Hot on his trail (that phrase came out dirtier than originally planned) is famed pirate hunter Captain Edward Reynolds (one spot-on performance by Evan Stone). There’s also some stuff in there about one kidnapped fiancée and some lusty lady pirate queens. And like every great pirate movie, it features sword fights (both literal and euphemistic), broadside gunship battles (make an innuendo out of that one, I dare you!) and one huge army of reanimated skeletons (recreating Harryhausen’s famed “Jason and the Argonauts” climax in one way the master animator never envisioned, at least not in context, with lady pirates battling the bones with their breasts popping out!). ...

Some grandpas are less grand than others
Post on 10-09-2006.
That's right, don't take the family to see this particular feel-good comedy. For one thing, it's loaded with bad language.
Most of it comes out of the filthy mouth of Grandpa, played by Alan Arkin. Yes, deep inside, Grandpa has one heart of gold, but on the outside he is one foul-mouthed grouch with one drug habit and an obsession with porn. ...
